Stock Option Trading Millionaire Principles

INTRODUCTION Having been trading stocks and options in the capital markets professionally over the years, I have seen many ups and downs. I have seen paupers become millionaires overnight… And I have seen millionaires become paupers overnight… One story told to me by my mentor is still etched in my mind: "Once, there were two Wall Street stock market multi-millionaires. Both were extremely successful and decided to share their insights with others by selling their stock market forecasts in newsletters. Each charged US$10,000 for their opinions. One trader was so curious to know their views that he spent all of his $20,000 savings to buy both their opinions. His friends were naturally excited about what the two masters had to say about the stock market's direction. When they asked their friend, he was fuming mad. Confused, they asked their friend about his anger. He said, 'One said BULLISH and the other said BEARISH!'" The point of this illus...

Sony moved into laptops with the VAIO brand in 1997

Sony was started in the aftermath of World War II, during the rapid reconstruction of Japan that gave birth to its world-leading electronics industry. The company originally had a Japanese name, Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo (TKT), but the founder changed this feeling that a short, catchy name using the Western alphabet would work better if the company wanted international success (this was a rare practice at the time, and was considered a controversial practice in Japan). The company immediately started innovating, building Japan's first tape players and the first successful transistor radios in the world – they specialised in taking American inventions and making them smaller and better, and then exporting them all over the world. As Sony made transistor radios smaller and smaller until they were easily portable, sales boomed, all the way through to the end of the '50s. This got Sony enough money to invest heavily in diversifying and building more and more new products,...

Cholesterol Levels and General Health

People with high blood cholesterol levels are very exposed to developing heart disease. High cholesterol levels are common to people with ages over 50, people with weight problems, people with gastro-intestinal disorders and people with diabetes. High blood cholesterol levels can be the result of either overproduction of the substance (due to liver dysfunctions) or the inability of the body to eliminate it. However, apart from physiological factors that enable the accumulation of cholesterol inside the organism, there are also many other external factors that contribute to cholesterol build up: inappropriate diet, sedentary lifestyle, smoking and alcohol abuse. Although the body is able to produce the amount of cholesterol it needs for sustaining its normal activity, a high-cholesterol diet can significantly increase blood cholesterol levels. Foods of animal origin are rich in cholesterol and saturated fats that are very harmful to the organism when they are consumed...

Microsoft Embraces the Web - Encarta Premium 2006

Microsoft was long derided by its critics for having failed to fully grasp the Internet revolution. It was late in developing Net technologies such as a proprietary search engine and in coping with security threats propagated through the Web. Not any more. Earlier this year MSN rolled out a great search engine and now Microsoft has fundamentally revamped its reference products. By committing itself to this overhaul, Microsoft embraced reality: nine out of ten children (between the ages of 5 and 17) use computers (USA figures) - and 85% of these get their information online. The Microsoft Encarta Premium 2006 is a breathtaking resource. It caters effectively (and, at $50, affordably) to the educational needs of everyone in the family, from children as young as 7 or 8 years old to adults who seek concise answers to their queries. It is fun-filled, interactive, and colorful. The 2006 Encarta's User Interface is far less cluttered than in previous editions. Conten...

Copy/paste update for Windows Phone 7 in second half of March

The first update for Windows Phone 7 is already out but the first one with merit - well, with copy and paste anyway - is coming this month (though not as fast as expected). Hopefully, Microsoft has learned from their mistake with the first one and this one will go smoother. The first update was supposed to improve the update process itself to make the phones ready for the future updates. That didn't go very smoothly as Samsung Windows Phone 7 owners will attest, but the issue was fixed and WP7 phones should be all ready to get one of those small but "I can't believe it doesn't have it" features. We're talking about copy and paste - we've seen it on video and there's a new video out too. The update is also expected to speed up performance of apps and revamp the Marketplace. The update was officially confirmed for March and Microsoft France's public relations blog says the update will come in the second half of March (instead of the fi...
